Local Firms Announce New Attorneys; 8th and 12th Judicial District Announce Events

Law Firm Updates

Moye White LLP announced Sept. 2 the addition of real estate attorneys Jana Willsey and Kole Kelley to the firm’s Denver office. Willsey joins with a concentration in commercial and real estate lending and commercial real estate development. Willsey represents regional and national financial institutions in structuring, negotiating and documenting real estate-secured transactions. Kelley joins with his experience in title, survey and mineral issues.


Perkins Coie LLP announced Oct. 2 Jessica Kaiser, a former lead administrative patent judge at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, has joined the firm’s intellectual property and patent litigation practices as a partner in the Denver office. During her more than seven years at the USPTO, Kaiser decided hundreds of cases before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board in both ex parte appeals and America Invents Act trials. She also worked on PTAB and agency reforms, including implementing new agency rulemaking and a pilot program for motions to amend patent claims during AIA trials. Kaiser has experience managing complex intellectual property disputes in the technology, telecommunications and life sciences sectors, as well as high-profile patent litigation matters in both district and appellate courts. 

Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP announced Oct. 4 Jill Lynch has joined the firm’s trial group. Her practice will continue to have an emphasis on complex business matters, commercial litigation and intellectual property litigation. Her litigation experience includes banking and financial services, technology, energy, healthcare, telecommunications and wireless networking. 

Quarles & Brady LLP announced Oct. 5 Matthew Holohan has joined the firm’s Denver office as a partner in the intellectual property practice group. Holohan counsels clients through complex IP disputes in both state and federal court. Representing national and international companies, he works to resolve a variety of IP disputes and related IP strategy issues. Holohan has a background in physics and experience representing companies in a wide range of technologies including electrical engineering, computer hardware and software, telecommunications, networking, mechanical devices and consumer products. 

The Judiciary 

The 8th Judicial District announced its warrant clearance day and community resource fair will happen Oct. 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Timberline Church in Fort Collins. The courts, public defenders and district attorney for the 8th Judicial District will come together to help people clear their warrants and get connected with resources to resolve their legal matters. The 12th Judicial District announced its warrant clearance day and community resource fair will happen Oct. 27 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Alamosa Combined Court. The courts, public defender and district attorney for the 12th Judicial District will come together to help people clear their warrants and get connected with resources to resolve their legal matters. Offenses that are eligible for warrant clearance include most misdemeanor, traffic and petty offenses including many drug charges. To see if your warrant qualifies, call 719-589-4996.

Moye White LLP announced Oct. 3 attorneys Nicholas Thompson and Chris Levkulich have been appointed to the Colorado Bar Association’s Tax Section Executive Council for 2023-2024. Thompson will be an at-large council member and Levkulich will serve as the section’s vice-chair. Thompson will lead continuing legal education efforts and help support federal and state tax legislative initiatives in Colorado. As vice-chair, Levkulich will work with other executive council members to ensure members of the tax section have a voice on new tax-related laws, regulations and policies. He has served as a member of the section’s executive council since 2016 and previously held the treasurer and secretary positions.

Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP announced Oct. 5 DGS attorney Kristin Arthur has been named among the Denver Bar Association’s  2023 Pro Bono Stars. In recognition of pro bono month every October, the bar association and DBA Access to Justice Committee recognize individuals for their contributions to pro bono work within the Denver legal community. At DGS, Arthur focuses her practice on both state and federal appeals as well as complex commercial litigation. Since joining the firm nearly three years ago, she has dedicated almost 400 hours to pro bono work. 

Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe, PC announced Oct. 6 attorney Kelley Duke has received the Above & Beyond Award from the law firm network SCG Legal. The Above & Beyond Award recognizes SCG legal members who have provided contributions, support and commitment to the network. Kelley was selected for this award due to the contributions she has made to the organization while serving as a long-time member and former board chair. Duke is a litigator and trial attorney who chaired the firm’s litigation practice group for 10 years and now serves on the executive committee. Her practice includes serving as a lead advocate to national and international clients in complex commercial litigation matters. She served as board chair of SCG Legal from 2021 to 2022. SCG Legal is a  network of about 120 law firms. Ireland Stapleton is the Colorado member of SCG Legal.
